Equipping Families

As parents, you are the ordained mediators of Truth (stimulus) and our children’s minds (learner). God has given you the tools (His Word and the Holy Spirit) to teach your children not only skills for learning and memory, but skills that help them perceive Truth and Reality through spiritual eyes, ears, and hearts.

Equipping Minds Curriculum teaches parents how to ask the right questions that help develop their children’s minds so they fully perceive and process what they experience with their own physical eyes, ears, and other senses. The Two-Edged Sword facilitates this step by teaching parents the skill of asking questions to help their children use their minds to observe and comprehend with their spiritual eyes, ears, and hearts what God is saying and to walk in it. “And your eyes will constantly behold the teacher” and “You will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘this is the way, walk in it. .  .’” (Isaiah 30:19-22, AMPC).

With the help of the Holy Spirit, the Christian parents’ job is to encourage their children to THINK about and have a relationship with God and to know His ways so they perceive through spiritual eyes and are wise in their decisions. Thoughtful questioning (as in Aristotle’s 10 question and Jesus’ questioning that led to examining the heart issues) applied to matters of the heart trains their spiritual minds (hearts) to respond to God and discern good from evil throughout their daily lives (Hebrews 5:12). Godly thoughts and attitudes lead to godly lifestyles.

Our minds are the negotiator between who we are (the spirit) and what we do (physical) and must be renewed daily. Parents are the key to raising healthy, vibrant Christ-followers. Training parents to implement the Equipping Minds curriculum benefits the entire family because, while having fun together, they are (1) helping their children (as well as themselves) acquire skills so they can think and reason and be wise, (2) develop relationships and spending time with them, and (3) investing in their future by cultivating their minds and hearts.
